Another Love Island USA alum is recovering from a serious accident. Chanse Corbi, who appeared on Season 4 of the hit show, has revealed she suffered gruesome injuries in a terrifying motorcycle crash while on vacation in Thailand.
The 24-year-old shared harrowing details of the incident, which serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safety while traveling.
A Vacation Turns into a Nightmare
According to Chanse, the accident occurred on the last day of her trip. While riding on the back of a motorcycle with a friend for some final sightseeing, they hit a massive pothole in the middle of the freeway.
“The front tire twisted, throwing my friend from the back, and trapping me under the bike,” Chanse recalled.
“Stripped” Skin and a Life-Saving Helmet
Tragically, Chanse was only wearing a bikini at the time, leaving her skin completely exposed to the rough asphalt. She skidded across the highway, which caused her skin to become “stripped” from her body.
The only thing that prevented a far greater tragedy was her helmet. “It was cracked on the left side, and without it, I know I wouldn’t be here to tell this story,” she stated.
A Painful Recovery: Skin Grafts and Infection
The damage was so severe that Chanse had to undergo skin graft surgery. Her recovery has been intensely difficult; she spent two weeks unable to walk.
To make matters worse, she developed a serious infection in her leg during her recovery. In a horrifying detail, she revealed that doctors had to “slice off” the infected tissue without pain medication.
A Message of Gratitude and a Safety Warning
Now on the road to recovery, Chanse is reflecting on the ordeal with a mix of regret and gratitude. “I definitely should’ve worn more than a bikini, but I’m forever grateful I had a helmet,” she said.
